Spore™ Classifications & Abilities

Spore Classifications

You're in Charge of Your Own Destiny

One of the nicest features of Spore™ is the numerous outcomes you can achieve. Your main goal as always is to reach the Space Stage and finally the center of the galaxy. The first time I played the game I was completely unaware of the fact that at any time I could glance at my history to see how it was going and to which end classification I was headed toward.

All I knew is the little button would flash when I reached the end of a stage and I would then click it ending that level and advancing to the next level. If only I knew I could click on it at anytime to see my progress in each level, in case I wanted to specifically guide my race toward a certain outcome or ending leading to the classification I really wanted. This little all important button is called the HISTORY BUTTON and looks like this.

Do not make the same mistake I did, CLICK IT OFTEN! Although as it happens, the way I happened to play that round I did get some of the cooler special abilities, like invulnerability in the Civilization Stage and an auto 10 points added to how much people like me when approaching new beings in the Space Stage. Its called the Gracious Greeting. And here I thought they just were giving me points for saying hi nicely, lol.

Spore allows you to guide your race of beings towards many different final outcomes. The choices you make will be recorded in your history and will ultimately guide you toward one of three final classifications in the end of each stage. With one final classification after reaching the Space Stage that is determined by your ending classifications for each of the previous stages.

The classification meanings themselves may be quite obvious, such as Carnivore, Omnivore and Herbivore, but with each classification comes its own added special abilities. These are shown at the bottom of the stage classification banners as icons.

When mousing over the icons, located at the bottom of the stage banners, you will find information about what the abilities uses are, the level in which a particular ability can be used and of course the name of the ability.

See below for a complete stage by stage list of pages describing each stages available outcomes as well as the special abilities given for each classification and most importantly, what they do and for which stage they are useful.
